For the past 10 years or so Komet have without doubt led the field in arborist harness design. No other harness has been as successful, or copied as much as the Komet Butterfly, and this harness and it's brother the Dragonfly have been the market leaders for many years.
Well the good old name of Komet has gone forever as the company has been absorbed into its parent companies stable of brands. In future all harnesses will be sold under the Miller brand. But, the reality is that that's all that has actually changed. The company, it's employees, it's designers and manufacturing facility remain the same. So from now on, I guess we should refer to all new products as the new "Miller harness"etc.
As mentioned, the designers of the Butterfly and Dragonfly harnesses are still working with "Miller" to develop, improve and stretch their imaginations to bring you products which really are revolutionary. I clearly remember 10 years ago when we introduced the Butterfly and everyone was so sceptical due to its radical design, sliding "D", quick connections and extremely light weight. The Butterfly revolutionised the way people climbed and the sliding "D" took all the strain off the hips for the first time. Yet, the interesting thing is that during the past 10 years, with the exception of the Dragonfly, which is basically a Butterfly with seat, there have been no other leaps forward in design. Sure there are many copies with many claims, but I wonder if any of these would be around if Komet had been smart enough to patent their original design. But, things behind the scenes never stand still and "Millers" design team have been working on what we believe to be the next great step forward in arborist harness design.
The all new Morpho harness in some ways looks similar to the Butterfly, but on closer observation you can see that it has radical new features which offer great benefits. The most significant new feature are the moebius loops on the triangulation, which allow the bridge to slide independently up and down. the benefits of this are obvious. For the first time you have a harness which allows movement back and forwards, this is a great improvement particularly when foot locking. The moebius loops also allow the bridge to move independently always self centering the weight distribution evenly over the four load bearing points. The advantages here can be felt when working down or up to the left or right where you would normally feel pressure from any other conventional sliding "D" style harness. No other harness gives such mobility for your pelvis. This independent movement we feel is the greatest step forward since the development of the sliding "D" and those already climbing with the Morpho confirm the they have the greatest freedom of movement they have ever had.
Providing this additional movement also gives new wear parts to the harness, which naturally needs to be replaceable. This is done quite simply by using liar shackles the same as changing the bridge. This is a well proven method and lies withing the remit of the CE standard requirements.
The lumbar support on the Morpho is again another great step forward in comfort and support. This is where the advantages of being part of the "Miller" stable kicks in, with their immense experience on al kinds of harness design. This new style back support really comes into its own when the harness is used for prolonged periods. As well as providing excellent support, it also has a patented system for transporting moisture away from your lumbar area and out through the back of the harness. This helps keep your lower back as dry as possible at all times.
A new automatic anti-slip buckle is another new feature which helps maintain you rindividual adjustments making the harness fit perfectly each time you wear it.
New name, New harness, New features, New benefits. Nobody gives you more when it comes to technological advances than "Miller"
