![]() The international renowned expert on tree stabilisation Dr Lothar Wessolly, who holds the EU patent 0623277 for tree stabilisation, is the founder of Boa Tree Cabling Systems. With over 20 years experience and several hundred thousand cabling systems conforming to his patents already installed around the world, there is no-one in the industry with the depth of knowledge and experience that Dr Wessolly has... He is well know the world over as the inventor of the Cobra cabling system and for his many years with the Cobra company. With the launch of Boa Tree Cabling Systems, Dr Wessolly has further improved and developed his existing patents now under the brand name Boa. Germanyleads the world in crown stabilisation, and Boa conforms to the latest guidelines of the German Standard ZTV Baumpflege. By using a new specialised hollow braided cable, the life expectancy of Boa cabling has been increased to 12 years rather than the 8 years required in the German regulations. Using this hollow braided cable, the breaking strength stipulated in the regulations can be achieved for the duration of the products service life, which is extended by 4 years, giving a saving of 33% on maintenance costs. Both the 2 Tonne and 4 Tonne systems utilise common components such as expansion inserts, shock absorbers and anti-abrasion hose. This considerably simplifies the Boa system. The specialised coating on the shock absorber and the inner of the braided cable ensures easy insertion of the shock absorber, without the need for lubricant. Simply using adhesive tape to shape the tip of the cable, removes the need for thermo end caps and the use of a heat torch. Special embossing on the expansion inserts has increased the transverse stability compared to a smooth band, and by using a wider expansion insert the surface pressure on the cambium is greatly decreased (approximately 66% in the 2 Ton system). All of these new features and improvements make Boa by far the simplest cabling system to install, and the most technically advanced on the market. |
