We are delighted to launch this brand with a fantastic safety helmet. This British made helmet solves many issues regarding head protection. The vast majority of safety helmets currently in use in forestry and arboriculture are derived from industrial safety helmets which conform to EN397. This standard type of helmet is fine for industrial use. But, as it only protects the crown of the head with an impact absorption of 50 joules it really is not adequate for our types of uses. Forestry and arboriculture head injuries are generally caused by slips and trips with the result being side of head injuries. This new helmet conforms to the far higher standard EN14052 which is the standard for high performance helmets. Our new helmet can absorb crown impact of 100 joules and side impact of 90 joules. A helmet of this level of protection is suitable not only for all aspects of tree work on or above ground, but also for uses such as riding quad bikes.
The helmet comes with an integral clear polycarbonate visor which slides up inside the helmet when not needed. It can also be fitted with mesh or clear full face visors and Sordin 26SNR for chainsaw use or 31SNR ear defenders for use with chipper. However, for those who prefer to use a helmet with safety glasses and ear plugs it is fine for this too making it acceptable for all personal preferences.
